Invisalign® Clear Aligner Therapy
At Dental Choice, our General Dentists are committed to offering the convenient, comfortable, and effective care when possible, including cosmetic, restorative, general and orthodontic treatments. We are proud to offer Invisalign® clear aligner therapy at our offices in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta, to patients who desire straighter teeth without the inconvenience of traditional metal braces.
Invisalign® clear aligner therapy is potentially ideal for anyone who requires orthodontic treatment but does not wish to wear traditional metal braces. Adults, teens, and post-secondary students are excellent candidates for Invisalign®, and the Invisalign® Teen series was recently introduced specifically to meet teenagers’ orthodontic needs. Typically, the only patients who might not qualify for Invisalign® are those with periodontal issues and children who won’t have all their permanent teeth — but even this is changing.
Invisalign® clear braces can straighten teeth gently and gradually without traditional brackets, bars, and bands. Because Invisalign® clear braces are easily removable, patients can eat, brush, and floss as they normally would. Patients who are interested in improvement for misaligned teeth may be good candidates for cosmetic veneers.
If you’ve been delaying orthodontic treatment because of dental anxiety or concerns about the appearance of traditional braces, the Invisalign® system allows you to receive effective treatment without discomfort or cosmetic inconvenience. Your treatment will be less noticeable to other people. To find out whether you are a candidate for Invisalign® orthodontic treatment, we invite you to contact a Dental Choice location in Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta, that is close to you.
After impressions are made of the patient’s teeth and bite, Invisalign® 3-D digital imaging software is used to create a series of clear retainers. Each retainer in the series is designed to fit comfortably over the patient’s teeth in their current alignment and incrementally move them into their desired position. The last retainer in the series is shaped closely to the desired final alignment. After wearing each aligner for approximately seven to 14 days, the patient will remove the aligner and replace it with the next one in the series. In this manner, teeth are straightened gradually and gently without traditional metal braces. Treatment with Invisalign® clear braces can be completed with approximately 18 to 30 aligners — the average therapy lasts six to nine months, but some rare cases can take as long as two years, or as short as three months.
Our staff will provide you with financial information and assistance and will help determine the amount of coverage that you are eligible to receive from your insurance company for Invisalign® treatment.
Why Choose Invisalign® Aligner Therapy?
Wearing braces is one of the most effective treatments for straightening teeth, but they can be painful and unappealing to look at. The choice between wearing Invisalign® orthodontic impressions and conventional metal braces all depends on a patient’s needs and lifestyle. Some people don’t want others to know they’re wearing braces, and that’s where Invisalign® invisible impressions can help.
Invisalign® impressions are highly flexible and offer a more precise fit for effective treatment. When compared to traditional braces, they’re gentle, comfortable and safe for most patients. Every process that involves Invisalign® orthodontics is computerized. This helps an Invisalign® dentist estimate the duration of treatment and ensure patients receive customized treatments.
At Dental Choice, we offer specialized treatment options to our patients based on their preferences and dental requirements. For more information on Invisalign® treatment, please visit our orthodontists in Edmonton and Calgary.
