Raising Awareness of the Importance of Oral Health, Even at a Young Age
This year we celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday May 10th and we at Dental Choice know that our patients’ moms are one of the reasons our younger patients teeth are so healthy. We also understand the challenges and obstacles a parent has to face when teaching their young children the significance of oral hygiene. Encouraging good oral hygiene at a young age will assist in cultivating habits that will lead to good oral health for the rest of their lives.
If you have ever wondered when you should start taking your child to the dentists, keep in mind that caring for your child’s baby teeth is just as important as caring for their permanent teeth, and most dentists prefer to see your child around the age of 2. For more information Click Here to read the blog post about taking your child to the dentist. As well you can watch our video on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h2wCvj3IkI.
So to assist our mother’s in encouraging good dental health we have comprised a list of links to help answer your questions about your children’s tooth development and other hygiene topics like teeth cleaning and flossing. We have also comprised a library of printable coloring sheets, brush and floss charts as well as a link to a baby tooth development chart from Anbesol Baby.
The Colgate website also has an assortment of online computer games for your child to play to help encourage healthy habits. https://www.colgate.com/app/Kids-World/US/EN/kids-corner.cwsp
