Dr. Catherine Eager BDS NUI (Hons), is a dentist from Ireland. She studied dentistry in University College Cork, in the south-west of Ireland, where she qualified with honours in 2015. She was awarded the American Academy of Operative Dentistry Prize for excellence in technical skills during her training.
 
She has worked as a General Dentist in private practice for the past 9 years. Catherine’s approach as a clinician is conservative and evidence-based – where her focus is on providing her patients with the best care, while making sure they feel fully informed about all aspects of their treatment, and comfortable during the process. She is known for her gentle touch.
 
Dr. Eager is committed to keeping her skills and knowledge up to date in the ever-evolving landscape of dentistry, with continuing education and reading, attending courses and conferences regularly, and in particular keeping a keen eye on the exciting world of digital dentistry.
 
Dr. Eager enjoys all areas of general dentistry, and also has a special interest in facial aesthetics, including anti-wrinkle injections, having trained with the UK’s top aesthetic medicine doctors. Her philosophy when it comes to facial aesthetic treatment is conservative – suited to those who would like to be treated in a highly professional manner in a safe, clinical environment.
 
In her spare time Dr. Eager loves art, live music, food, yoga, CrossFit, surfing, hiking and travelling.
 

Dr. Amandeep Singh graduated from the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Alberta, and now co-owns the West Edmonton Dental Choice office and takes pride in his team and practice. Dr. Singh’s winning sense of humor will help to put you at ease, and in addition to his alignment to Our Core Values, will contribute to a positive experience for patients and staff alike. Dr. Singh performs general dentistry including restorations, dental surgery, prosthodontics (crown and bridge) and root canals. In addition to these services Dr. Singh is able to offer Invisalign® and Implant placement. Dr. Singh speaks English and Punjabi, and is accepting new patients to his practice.

Dr. Aliya Rajwani is passionate about dentistry and enjoys to provide quality services and education to all of her patients. She performs Invisalign® and other cosmetic procedures as well as restorative dentistry. Dr. Rajwani is great with the students and faculty of the University of Calgary and promotes a positive experience for both her patients and staff alike. By aligning to the Dental Choice set of Core Values, Dr. Rajwani is committed the quality patient care and creating super satisfied patients.

Dr. Daniel Bargrizan graduated from Griffith University in Australia after completing his Bachelor of Science degree at Dalhousie University. Dr. Bargrizan has quickly become a patient favorite since joining us in May 2019, with his passion for dentistry combined with outstanding chair side manner. He is also fluent in Persian. Dr. Bargrizan proudly offers all general dentistry services as well as implants and Invisalign. He also offers sedation options including oral and nitrous sedation to make make dental visits more comfortable.

When not in the office, Dr Bargrizan loves keeping busy with outdoor activities like skiing, tennis, golf and kayaking. He also loves traveling, and that is how he picked up scuba diving and has since become a PADI divemaster.

Dr. Holly Gushue is a proud Albertan having grown up in Calgary and Airdrie. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at the University of Lethbridge and continued studies in Chemistry at the University of Calgary before moving across the world to attend the Doctor of Dental Medicine program at the University of Sydney in Australia. During her studies, Dr. Gushue worked on multiple clinical rotations in several facilities, including a rotation with the Royal Flying Doctors Service, where she provided dental treatment to patients with limited access to care. She strives to provide the best quality care for her patients while making them feel comfortable and confident with their treatment, their overall oral health and their smile. She is happy to be back home in Calgary and enjoys spending time with her husband and son, snowboarding and playing golf.

Originally from Saskatchewan, Dr. Quon graduated from the U Of S in Saskatoon. She has made Edmonton her home for the past two decades. Dr. Quon prides herself on being a dentist that will provide a comfortable and relaxing experience at the dental office. Her priority is educating and providing information so patients can participate in their own dental care.

Dr. Quon is actively involved in the Edmonton community by volunteering countless hours in the theatre and arts community. She also volunteers and is a foster home for a local cat sanctuary. When she’s not volunteering, you can find her on a golf course, on her motorcycle, on a running trail, yoga mat or on the ice playing beer league hockey. If she’s not there, she’s probably visiting another country or trying out a fabulous restaurant.

Dr. Mo Omar is an across-world traveler, as he had to travel for 10,111 km from Cairo to Edmonton, where he specialized in the art of maintaining teeth and preserving gum health and aesthetics, AKA Periodontics. In addition to the three years of clinical training, he invested three more years investigating the potential role of genetics in the association between gum disease and heart disease, a project that made him the first PhD in Periodontology at the University of Alberta.

On his way from Cairo, Dr. Omar made a brief stop in Scotland, where in addition to experiencing the bagpipes and kilts, he attended a post-graduate program in Oral cancer at the University of Dundee.

In the dental chair, utilizing his surgical and non-surgical skills, Dr. Omar strives to maintain his patients’ teeth for as long as possible, and if need be, replace them with implants. He as well would help his patients achieve healthy and aesthetic gums through soft tissue grafts. Dr. Omar has a passion in teaching, so as his patient you can always expect a little bit of education.

Outside of the office, Dr. Omar can be found working out in the gym or meditating in a yoga studio, or possibly in the dog park, but most likely, along with his wife, Sara, they will be cheering on their little gymnast, Laila, at one of her competitions.

Dr. Kua is a Registered Specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery born and raised in Calgary. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary in 2008. Dr. Kua obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Western Ontario in 2012.

Following completion of his doctorate, Dr. Kua practiced general dentistry before being accepted into and completing his specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York. His residency consisted of training in anaesthesia, general surgery, otolaryngology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and critical care medicine. He is trained in anaesthesia, complex dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, head and neck trauma, orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), oral and maxillofacial pathology, maxillofacial reconstruction and temporomandibular joint disorders. He has practiced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2020.

Dr. Kua is excited to offer a broad range of oral and maxillofacial surgery services in Calgary and surrounding areas. These services include expertise in wisdom teeth removal, intravenous sedation, simple to complex dental implant solutions, bone grafting and sinus augmentation. Dr. Kua is a proponent of utilizing the latest technologies including 3D imaging, digital scanning, virtual surgical planning, guided dental implant surgery, and the use of patient-derived healing products such as platelet-rich fibrin. Growing up in Edmonton, Dr. Viviane Nguyen began her studies at the University of Alberta before pursuing her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of British Columbia. She is dedicated to delivering patient-centered care and strives to create a comfortable environment for all. Dr. Nguyen believes in helping patients understand their oral health and providing them with the information to make informed treatment choices. Dr. Nguyen enjoys learning about the latest advances to further her knowledge and clinical skills. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, catching up on TV shows and trying out new recipes.

Dr. Sahba Kian brings over a decade of experience and a wealth of cultural and professional insight to our team. Since graduating from dental school in 2013, Dr. Kian has practiced dentistry in communities across Canada, from British Columbia to Quebec, gaining a deep appreciation for the unique needs of diverse patient populations.
 
Dr Kian served in the Canadian Armed Forces and speaks English, French, Spanish, and Farsi, allowing him to connect with patients from a variety of backgrounds. His philosophy, “to be the doctor I would want for myself,” is at the heart of his approach to dentistry. He lives this out by dedicating himself to delivering his very best work to every patient he has the honour of treating.
 
Outside the clinic, Dr. Kian has a passion for reggae music and enjoys staying active by playing a variety of sports. His enthusiasm for life and genuine care for others make him a trusted partner in helping patients achieve their healthiest, most confident smiles.

Dr. Damola Baiyere’s interest in dentistry started in her elementary years, being the daughter of an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Dr B, as she is fondly called by patients, strives to always apply the best version of herself and is very passionate about helping to create happy smiles. She offers all general dentistry services including wisdom teeth extractions and Invisalign. When she is not working, she loves to spend time watching movies with her husband. She also enjoys cooking, hanging out and window-shopping with her two daughters.

Dr. Mohamed is a member of the Canadian Dental Association and the Alberta Dental Association and College and provides all general dentistry services as well as surgical extractions and implant placement. He strongly believes in the power of knowledge and is committed to continual education and lifelong learning. Dr. Mohamed prides himself on taking his time to get to know his patients and providing a relaxing environment and enjoyable visit.

After completing her Bachelor of Science at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Imaan Hajee ventured to Australia to complete the Doctor of Dental Medicine program at the University of Sydney. Dr. Hajee is trained in all aspects of general dentistry, including restorative, periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. Dr. Hajee is dedicated to further improving her skills and knowledge in all aspects of dentistry through continued education courses.

Dr. Hajee’s passion for dentistry is matched only by her genuine desire to connect with her patients. She takes the time to listen to their concerns and preferences, striving to create a comfortable and personalized experience for each individual. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Hajee enjoys exploring the great outdoors through hiking and running. As she has recently moved back to Calgary, Dr. Hajee is excited to discover new culinary delights and cafes around the city.

Dr. Joshua Cooper is a compassionate dental professional who graduated from Griffith University in Australia. With a dee-seated passion for dentistry, Dr. Cooper is dedicated to providing patient-centered care that addresses the unique oral health concerns of individuals form all walks of life. Known for his warm demeanor and commitment to excellence, Dr. Cooper takes pride in building connections with patients and working collaboratively with them to achieve optimal oral health outcomes. With a focus on empathy and understanding, he strives to make every dental experience comfortable, personalized and effective.

Dr. Cooper is accepting new patients at Stephen Avenue Dental Choice and enjoys all areas of general dentistry, including molar root canal treatment, crown and bridge, and extractions.

Dr. Mirna Rizkallah focuses on providing quality dental work in a comfortable and caring environment. She is best described as a relationship builder, committed & conscientious person. She takes great pleasure in educating her patients on their oral health. Dr. Mirna is a member of the Alberta Dental Association and is a strong believer in staying up to date by taking courses and keeping abreast of the latest technologies that are available. Outside of the clinic, she loves spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys cooking, traveling, and playing card games. Dr. Ravin Bhavsar graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree with distinction from the University of Western Ontario. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry including crown and bridge, extractions, and root canal treatment.

Dr. Ravin takes time to listen to patients’ concerns and explain the treatment options. He also offers nitrous oxide sedation to patients who need it. He enjoys seeing people of all ages and loves to meet new people every day. He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati and will be happy to discuss your concern during your dental visit.

Dr. Malhi is a dedicated and compassionate dentist with a strong focus on patient care. He is dedicated to delivering high-quality dental treatment and is skilled in a variety of procedures, including restorative dentistry, preventative care, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Malhi is committed to staying up to date with the latest dental technologies to ensure that every patient receives effective and comfortable care.

Dr. Malhi takes pride in providing personalized treatment plans that prioritize both oral health and aesthetics. He understands the importance of patient education and works closely with each individual to ensure their dental experience is comfortable and stress-free.

In his free time, Dr. Malhi enjoys expanding his skills in advanced dental procedures, staying active through fitness routines, and traveling to explore new destinations. 

Dr. Shivani Verma received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at New York University and chose to return to Edmonton to practice dentistry. She is described as friendly, caring and confident and interested in getting to know her patients. Dr. Verma and her skilled team focus on creating an atmosphere where patients won’t be in a hurry to leave, our goal is for all appointments to be on time. She practices general dentistry and offers sedation dentistry as well. We are confident that her compassionate manner and well trained team will create a dental experience you will want to return to. Dr. Verma speaks English, Punjabi, and Hindi is accepting new patients.

With 25 years of experience, Dr. Lopez brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to our team. He has spent part of his career providing dental services in the Canadian Armed Forces, showcasing his dedication to patient care in a variety of settings.

Dr. Lopez offers all general dentistry services and is fluent in English, French, and Spanish, making him accessible to a wide range of patients. He is known for listening carefully to his patients’ concerns and providing expert advice. Despite his extensive experience, Dr. Lopez remains committed to staying current with the latest advancements in dentistry through continuing education courses.

Dr. Poonam Atwal, originally from Edmonton and professionally trained in Sydney, Australia, is an enthusiastic dentist committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. Fluent in both English and Punjabi, Dr. Atwal values effective communication with her diverse clientele.

Outside of the dental practice, Dr. Atwal finds joy in traveling, exploring the outdoors, sampling new culinary delights, and cherishing moments with her loved ones. She firmly believes that a healthy smile is integral to overall health and happiness, and she is dedicated to assisting her patients in achieving smiles they can truly take pride in.

Dr. Donald Ademaj is a lifelong Edmontonian devoted to improving the oral health of his patients. After graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science, Dr. Ademaj completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland. He is passionate about tailoring treatment plans to an individual’s needs, with a keen interest in fillings, crowns, bridges, and emergency treatment. Dr. Ademaj loves getting to know his patients, and providing the treatment they need to feel better about their smile. Dr. Ademaj is also fluent in Albanian. While working, he continues to learn more about the ever-changing world of dentistry, to provide the best evidence-based treatment for his patients. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Ademaj loves being around friends and family, and both plays and watches sports such as soccer, hockey, basketball, and tennis. He enjoys keeping up to date with current affairs and music, and learning more about the different cultures around the world.

Dr. Carolyn Baergen graduated from the University of Alberta in 1995 and has practiced dentistry on Whyte Avenue, in Millwoods, and in Sherwood Park over the past 22 years. She can be described as friendly, personable, and a bit of a humming bird as she loves to hum a tune or two at work. She focuses on developing treatment plans that are tailored to individual needs and makes sure you are feeling confident about your care.

Dr. Emily Ervin – A University of Alberta graduate, Dr. Ervin has known she wanted to be a dentist since she was three years old. She understands that going to the dentist can often be challenging, and is committed to making the experience a positive one for all of her patients. She is friendly and compassionate, and takes the time to go through all treatment options, answer questions and develop custom treatment plans that fit each patient’s unique needs.

Dr. Ervin is comfortable working with patients with complex medical needs. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, including functional and esthetic restorative, endodontics, Invisalign, and surgical extractions including wisdom teeth. In her free time, Dr. Ervin is an avid reader, and loves to spend time outdoors and practice her nature photography.

Dr. Sahib Lotey was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta where he attended the University of Alberta for his Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Biology. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy where he was able to treat patients in an underserviced community. After graduation Dr. Lotey moved back to Alberta and wanted to continue treating patients who had difficulty accessing dental care. This is why he chose to work in the communities of High Prairie and Edson before moving to Calgary. Dr. Lotey enjoys all aspects of dentistry but loves to make personal connections with his patients. When Dr. Lotey is not working he enjoys traveling, golfing, hiking, and checking out the local food scene.

Dr. Brian Fedoretz has experience in different areas of general dentistry, and is able to provide Invisalign® clear braces treatment. He is passionate about dentistry and gives detailed explanations for treatment options to all of his patients. He can be described as friendly and funny, and his patients gravitate towards his positive energy!

Dr. Fedoretz was also voted the Best Dentist in Edmonton by bestinedmonton.com, due to his extensive experience, proven track record and easygoing attitude and patience with his patients.

Dr. Ward Jickling was born and raised in northern Alberta before moving to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta. He graduated from dentistry in 2001and has practiced here in Edmonton for more than 20 years. Providing gentle care to all patients is what Dr. Jickling finds most rewarding, along with a focus on sedation and surgery.

When he is not working, Dr. Jickling enjoys being outside as much as possible. Biking, hiking and camping are among his favorite activities. When not spending time with his wife and daughters, he can often be found watching almost any sport but especially some Oiler’s hockey.

Dr. Kristen Kezar was born and raised in Saskatchewan. She followed her interests in biomedical sciences and completed a four year degree in Physiology and Pharmacology before going on to complete her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the U of S. She moved to Edmonton in January with her fiancé Michael who is also a dentist, specializing in orthodontics, at the U of A.

Dr. Kezar believes in dental care being an inclusive and welcoming experience—because everyone deserves to have a smile they love! She takes a personalized approach to treating patients and enjoys practicing all aspects of general dentistry.

In her spare time, Kristen uses every free moment to visit, laugh and spend time with friends and family. She loves animals, especially her pup, Sherpa, as well as spending time outside, whether that’s hiking, fishing, or a cool drink on a patio!

Dr. Shayan Hamzehi has completed his degree in dentistry with distinction from Griffith University in Australia after completing his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with honors from Ryerson University in Toronto. He continues to further his knowledge and skills through study and training. Dr. Hamzehi has interest in all areas of dentistry with special interest in crown and bridge, cosmetic dentistry and root canal therapy. He has a friendly and calm chair side manner and is great with patients who are anxious about oral care or treatment.

Dr. Amin Datu completed his degree in dentistry at the University of Alberta and has over 25 years of experience providing all general dentistry services including wisdom teeth extractions, root canal therapy and Invisalign treatment. It is important to Dr. Datu to provide quality dentistry and welcome his patients to an office where their care is his number one priority. We are confident that his friendly and compassionate manner will create a comforting environment for all of his patients.

Dr. Dwayne Kowalchuk was born and raised in Calgary. With a background in both art and science, he successfully combined these two passions in the dental profession. In 2006, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He is a general dentist who has been in practice for 17 years and brings a wealth of experience in general dentistry. Dwayne has a proactive yet conservative approach and philosophy towards dental care. He believes in treatments that prevent complex, painful, and expensive problems. He strongly believes in empowering all of his patients to participate in co-diagnosis conversations, so that they can make their own informed dental treatment decisions. Dwayne strives to provide excellent service that is tailored to each patient’s individual needs and concerns, always with an eye towards patient comfort (PAINLESS injections), and the goal of improving patients’ long-term oral and overall health. A strong believer in lifelong learning, Dr. Kowalchuk is routinely exploring new and better techniques and technologies, to maximize patient satisfaction and long-term results.

In his spare time, Dwayne lives an active lifestyle and enjoys skiing, hiking, scuba diving, photography, traveling, and reading non-fiction books, along with enjoying a variety of cultural, concert and art-scene experiences. He feels blessed when spending quality time with his friends and family.

Guilty Pleasures: 80’s music, murder mystery movies, wine/spirit tasting events, strategy board games.

Hidden Talents: Crooning tunes (at karaoke??? sure), character impersonations, balloon animal wizard (a kid fav).

Recent adventures include developing a YouTube channel, becoming a BBQ Competition Judge, re-learning Spanish, learning to play guitar and ride a motorcycle.

Dr. Kavisha Patel has been providing dentistry services to Alberta Communities since 2020 and is excited to have returned to Edmonton. She enjoys practicing all aspects of general dentistry and strives to provide comprehensive dental care to all patients in a safe and comfortable environment. Dr. Patel and her team work to create a warm and welcoming environment for all patients including anxious patients and children. She offers sedation options as needed.

Outside of the office Dr. Patel enjoys spending tie with her husband and son, trying new recipes and hiking. She enjoys visiting the mountains and lakes.

Dr. Sonu Punjabi is devoted to providing comprehensive treatment to his patients in a comforting manner with the goal of improving their oral and general health. Understanding that each patient’s needs are different, Dr. Punjabi values open communication and strives to match every patient with the ideal treatment plan tailored to their individual needs, desires, as well as budget. He balances his free time with continuing education courses to help improve his skillset in all aspects of dentistry to provide the best care possible.

When not at the office, Dr. Punjabi loves to spend his time with family and friends, is an avid sports fan and grew up playing several sports, including soccer and basketball. In his free time, you can catch him getting a workout in at the gym, indulging in the local food scene, and cheering for his favourite sports teams.

Bassma Sharif (DD) was born and raised in the heart of Edmonton, Alberta, her path has been one of connection and discovery. Dr. Zenith brings practical experience and personal attention to each one of his patients. Born and raised in Edmonton, Dr. Zenith graduated from the University of Alberta in 1981. That same year he started ZenithDental in the very same location it is today. Since then, Dr. Zenith has proudly served the needs of Edmonton’s growing community. Dr. Zenith is happily married with four beautiful children and three wonderful grandchildren. In addition to
dentistry and spending time with his beloved family, Dr. Zenith is an avid photographer, supporter of the performing arts and Oilers fan.

Dr. Cheung, a native to Calgary, has been working in the dental field for over 10 years. Her journey commenced after she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in biology; when she began working as a sterilization technician and chairside assistant at a dental clinic. Dr. Cheung developed her passion for dentistry here and went on to pursue her dental hygiene degree in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia. After practicing as a dental hygienist for a few years, Dr. Cheung decided to return to school to become a dentist. She wanted to be able to do more for her patients.

Her journey took her on an adventure to Australia, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Sydney. While studying dentistry, Dr. Cheung participated in extracurricular elective programs in endodontics and emergency dentistry. She also completed a rural placement where she served communities with limited access to dental care.

This is something that she wishes to continue in the future. Dr. Cheung enjoys all aspects of dentistry and most of all, she loves building lasting relationships with her patients. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Cheung’s other passions are food and cooking. She enjoys travelling and spending time in the outdoors. Dr. Cheung recently welcomed a baby boy and loves spending time with him and her family.

Dr. Jennifer Li received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Calgary followed by her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan. It is her goal to provide a comfortable experience for all patients while building long term relationships with them. Dr. Li provides all general dentistry services including Invisalign and wisdom teeth extractions.

Dr. Andrea Piccoli moved to Canada from Argentina in 2003 and has been practicing general dentistry since 1992. Dr. Keegan Scott graduated from the University of Manitoba and went on to practice in Winnipeg before moving to Calgary.

Dr Scott’s focus is on providing his patients the highest standard of care and he brings a genuine passion for dentistry to every patient interaction. When he is not at the office, Dr Scott enjoys cycling, golf, and the Toronto Raptors. He loves to travel both within Canada and around the world.
