Meet Our Prosthodontist – Dr. Nimet Adatia
Prosthodontics is the field of dentistry that involves using treatments such as dental implants and dental bridges to replace missing or damaged teeth. Tooth restoration is both an art and science that requires a skilled and experienced prosthodontist in order to achieve the best-looking results. Dental Choice is proud to partner with renowned prosthodontist Nimet Adatia of Designer Smiles in order to provide advanced restorative treatments to our patients from Calgary, Edmonton, and throughout Alberta. Dr. Adatia also offers treatment for TMJ disorders.
Education and Experience
After earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Alberta, Dr. Nimet Adatia completed three years of additional training in prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Masters degree and certificate in prosthodontics and gained valuable experience in treating patients with extensive restorative needs. Dr. Adatia also completed an additional year of study focusing exclusively on implant dentistry.
Our prosthodontist is highly regarded and has received several honors and awards for her research and accomplishments in her field. The American College of Prosthodontics presented Dr. Adatia with the John J. Sharry Award, a highly coveted honor that is given in acknowledgment of excellence in prosthodontic research. In addition, Dr. Adatia has published numerous articles and is an adjunct reviewer with the Journal of Prosthodontics.
Prior to opening her private practice in Calgary, Dr. Adatia taught in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina as a teaching fellow. She was also in private practice in Fayetteville, North Carolina as a prosthodontist.
Dr. Adatia is a member of various different professional organizations, including the Alberta Dental Association and College, the Canadian Dental Association, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, and the American College of Prosthodontics.
